Core purpose of the role

To provide a service to potential buyers by selling finance, value added products and insurance so as to contribute positively to second gross profit.

Key deliverables and outputs


Finance Process
• Facilitate the arranging of finance for all branch customers
• Upon receipt of sales lead, assist customer in completing the finance application form
• Request FICA documentation from customer verified as per bank requirements
• Upon receipts of completed application and relevant documents, capture customer information on the Fusion system within 1
• If deal is approved by bank, submit FICA documents for validation immediately
• If deal is declined by bank, renegotiate finance with customer (e.g. larger deposit, cheaper car, less finance products, combined
income, lower interest rate)
• Inform customer of outcome and explain approval criteria
• Inform Sales Representative of outcome
• Authorize costing sheet for the Sales Representative to invoice
• Deal file to be signed as all deals must be sighted by the Consultant: F&I Car Sales
• All documents are filed in the Deal file and placed in storage
• Ensure adherence to the POPI Act

• Submit accurately completed documentation as per bank requirements to the relevant financial institution for pay out,
immediately after delivery of vehicle
• Obtain debtors report from Finance Department and action debtors daily and submit to Manager (E.g. Avis Car Sales arranged
finance, pre-approved finance, cash)
• Follow up with banks daily on pay-outs
• Pursue resolution of debtors and escalate any barriers to Manager timeously
• Action weeks debtors report and submit to Admin Controller every Friday by 10h00



• Resolve queries within same day or escalate to Manager
• Complete and submit month end report by 1st working day
• Filing of FAIS / FICA documentation is maintained as per ICE standard
• Manually signed warranties to be submitted to Barloworld F&I Department by 3rd working day monthly
• All warranties to be incepted on the Fusion system

Sales of Second Gross Products

• Market and sell the optimum range of value-added products by determining customers’ needs and informing them of the
product range available as per FAIS requirements
• Inform customer that comprehensive insurance quotation will be obtained externally and to expect phone call from provider, if
• Capture insurance lead in the Fusion system
• Before closing the deal, summarise the products sold and resolve any queries as per FAIS/FICA requirements
• Request outstanding original FICA documents and insurance confirmation from the customer, prior to delivery of vehicle
• Inform customer of accepted methods of payment (e.g. EFT, bank cheque)
• Manage and promote the F&I process within the branch

Settlements and Natis Documentation

• Upon acceptance of trade-in / buy-in, contact bank and request settlement and NATIS documents immediately
• Hand over bank’s settlement letter and NATIS documents to Sales Representative

3.Stakeholders (internal & external customers, suppliers, shareholders, communities)

• Attend all daily team huddles and other team meetings as scheduled
• Attend F&I meeting monthly
• Attend Regional Sales team huddles and meetings as required
• Build relationships with the sales team to achieve all objectives
• Deliver exceptional customer service at all times to add value to the sales process

The role requires close engagement and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders

Customers, Insurance Brokers, Banks


Academic Qualifications

• Matric
• Appropriate NQF 4 qualification with minimum 60 FAIS credits or equivalent (if employed as F&I before Dec 2008)
• Retail Insurance Qualification and/or Generic qualification per Board
• Notice 105 of FSP (New F&I Business after Dec 2009)
• NCA accreditation
• Valid driver’s license

Work Experience

• At least 5 Years’ experience in the F&I field
