The Role:

To increase the share of customer spend and deliver superior customer value by defining and optimizing customer specific solutions in collaboration with the customer.

Key Performance Areas:


  • Propose solutions to customer and assist with customer planning for implementing and or integration of individual products into mining applications
  • Provide inputs to Product Support Managers and Sales Support Managers (in Product Areas) on customers’ needs not met by current offering in order to try
  • Ensure the proposed mining method encompass as much of Sandvik offering as possible
  • Ensure that mine feasibility studies are based on Sandvik solutions by working with mining consultants
  • Develop complete sales proposals for major mining projects, concentrating specifically on capital and operating cost prediction
  • Maintain an up to date basic portfolio of competitor information including equipment specifications, market activities and market share
  • Support sales of new equipment and upgrades to existing equipment with justifications to mining operations using TCO models
  • Provide all necessary product information that may be required to support of sales
  • Perform mine application and equipment utilization studies
  • Support application-engineering efforts with routine productivity simulations
  • Capture, update and maintain CRM and relevant Sandvik software platforms (Aurora)


  • Competitor analysis & Needs analysis
  • Relationship marketing & Market services
  • Work with customer (Mining Engineer, Consultants, Design Engineer, etc.) to understand mine performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and safety.
  • Provide site visit reports


  • Financial and budgetary Reviews & reports
  • Identify & implement procedural change
  • Manage and institute performance recommendations
  • Continuous needs analysis (internal & external)
  • Manage profit margins
  • Use preferred providers
  • Manage invoices of all cost as per contract

Your Profile:

  • Grade 12 / Equivalent qualification
  • Degree in business management / Engineering
  • Certificate of competence (Mine Manager) – advantageous
  • English proficiency
  • Experience in Sales and Marketing (5 years)
  • Experience in Key Account Management
  • Experience in mining applications (specifically mechanised mining)
