Job Summary

The main responsibilities of this job are:

Phase 1

  • Attend phase ONE (1) theoretical training at preferred provider (eight-week program):
  • The Repairman shall complete a forty-four week (44) practical training period as part of normal daily duties at Sappi Ngodwana.
  • Perform practical tasks as per training completed during Institutional training

Phase 2

  • Attend a forty-four week (44) practical training, before starting with phase TWO (2) theoretical training, the Repairman might be upgraded depending on the converting grade as stipulated in Repairman to Artisan Conversion Program.
  • Attend phase TWO (2) theoretical training at preferred provider (eight-week program), and
  • Complete a forty-four week (44) practical training period as part of normal daily duties at Sappi Ngodwana.
  • Perform practical tasks as per training completed during Institutional training

Phase 3

  • Attend a forty-four week (44) practical training, before starting with phase THREE (3) theoretical training, the Repairman might be upgraded depending on the converting grade as stipulated in Repairman to Artisan Conversion Program
  • Attend phase THREE (3) theoretical training at preferred provider (eight-week program), and
  • Complete a thirty-eight week (38) practical training period as part of normal daily duties at Sappi Ngodwana.
  • Perform practical tasks as per training completed during Institutional training

Phase 4

  • The learner will apply for trade preparation and testing through the HR Consultant L&D Engineering.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Relevant NQF 4 with Maths and Science
  • No experience
