Apprenticeship Summary
Applications are invited for the position of Trainee Engineering Technician based at ATNS George Airport. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Supervisor: Technical Services FAGG.
Minimum Qualifications

S4 National Diploma in Light Current Electronic Engineering or equivalent
Minimum Experience
- Attended and successfully completed the prescribed Technical Learnership at the ATNS Aviation Training Academy
Additional advantage
- Preferably ACSA AVOP certified
- A valid code 8 driver’s license

- Efficiency Electronic Equipment Assembly techniques
- Dexterity in the handling of various components
- Logical approach to fault finding
- Ability to read and draw electronic circuit diagrams
- Circuit board assembly and component replacement
- Use of electronic test equipment
- Good color discernment
- To be physically agile
- Computer literate
- Problem Solving
- Report Writing
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Use of a 4×4 vehicle

- apply electrical/electronic engineering techniques and practices within a specific electrical/electronic area
- apply theoretical, problem-solving and lateral thinking in the design of new electrical/electronic systems
- communicate (verbal and/or written) in terms of work sheets, reports and on-the job instructions
- communicate sound electrical/electronic engineering insights and solutions
- diagnose electrical/electronic problem
- keep up to date with latest trends and development in the electrical and electronic areas
Experience
- applying electrical/electronic engineering to resolve problems/exploit opportunities
Knowledge
- creative, lateral thinking and problem-solving approaches
- the theory and practice of the electrical/electronic area
