Registration Information

A strike by staff at Unisa has now been resolved and all staff are expected back at work from Monday. However the last few days and weeks of disruption have lead to delays in the registration process. It was originally supposed to be completed by the end of the January and was then extended to the 7th of February.

In an effort to ensure that students are not disadvantaged by the recent distruption in university business the management of Unisa have decided to extend the deadline for registration once again.

The new closing date for 2020 registration and payment date for undergraduate qualifications (higher certificates, diplomas & degrees, advanced certificates, advanced diplomas, BTechs & postgraduate certificates) and honours degrees / postgraduate diplomas is Monday 17 February 2020.

Related to this is the decision to extend the NSFAS walk-in application deadline to the 14th February 2020. Although formal applications for NSFAS this year were originally supposed to be submitted by the end of November last year, it was clarified in the last few weeks that university and TVET College students who are accepted into a course in 2020, and qualify for NSFAS, will still be able to apply this ye

In their official statement Unisa ask students to take note of the following issues:

A late registration will mean that your hard copy study material will be delivered late. You may, of course, access your study material via myUnisa, which will be available once your registration has been finalised. If your registration has not yet been finalised, you can still access your official study material. Click here for more information.

A late registration also means that the semester will be shorter, which will give you less time to complete assignments and prepare for your examinations.

The due date for compulsory assignments will be communicated shortly.
